Sheryl and Liang Wei’s Actual Day Wedding
Sometimes, it’s not about the ostentatious couple’s portraits. As a wedding photographer, artistic, creative shots of the couple have become somewhat of a calling card for me. It’s what I do best, and it’s undoubtedly the work I’m most proud of. However, it’s always good to be reminded that wedding coverage is much more than just fancy abstract photography. Sheryl and Liang Wei’s wedding was one such reminder. Laced between the frenetic energy of the gatecrash games and the epic ballroom aisle marches were quieter moments: A conversation with a friend before the day begins, a groom waiting in his car to fetch his bride-to-be, a quick group photo during tea break. The understated scenes that slip by if you’re not paying close attention.
Best of 2024 Recap
It’s been one hell of a year. I’ve had the privilege of documenting a number of weddings from many different walks of life, all while growing and maturing as a photographer and as a creative. It’s been humbling to be able to learn from so many teachers, to draw knowledge from various disciplines, styles and workflows, and to incorporate them into my own work. I’ve made strides in developing my own voice and vision, all in the service of the couples I collaborate with. Without further ado, here are some of my favourite images I’ve made this year, enjoy :)
